Sapa is named after an isolated Vietnamese village on the border with China. Here John fell in love with the ingenuity and simplicity of the building solutions the local people employed. He brings this ethos to his work, and team, in Melbourne.
Sapa was established in 2009 by John Conheady. John has worked in construction for twenty years, with companies including Len Bogatin and Associates (now LBA Construction) and Brighton Builders, spanning residential and commercial. John completed his Bachelor of Building at Deakin University in 2000. He personally oversees all projects. Paul worked for Landmark Construction for 18 years as a supervisor and his projects include the award winning Beaconsfield Parade house (architect Cocks Carmichael).
At Sapa, we are experts in handling difficult building challenges. You may have space and site issues, heritage overlay, or wish to build a boundary to boundary basement. We pride ourselves in bringing master builder skills and new technologies together to find unique solutions to modern building issues.
We look forward to discussing with you in detail how we came to these solutions, and how we can meet the challenges of your project.
We collaborate with a number of award winning architects, including Fiona Winzar, Inarc, John Alkemeade, Enth Degree, and heritage architects Lovell Chen.

You may already be working with an architect, who has recommended us. It is usual for architects to consult us as they design your project, to ensure it can be built on cost and on time.
Alternatively we are happy to talk to you first, and from there suggest an appropriate architect for you.
We will also project manage only if this suits your requirements.
